So due to the down time I have at work and a fascination with all things internet I've been doing ALOT of research on baby stuff. Which isn't a bad thing, but I'm finding all sorts of things that I never really thought about or knew existed.
I'm planning on wearing Maddie in a sling. I've heard it's very beneficial for mom and for baby. I'm planning on breast feeding, I'm planning on cloth diapering. And now I've been reading up on elimination communication...
It's interesting. It's basically "potty training" starting as an infant. I've read where some people start at birth, and some people wait a few months. It certainly would save money on diapers and time for washing the diapers. I'm sure your probably thinking that I'm crazy and ultimately too lazy to follow through on it, but it's interesting to think about.
I PROMISE I'll get some belly shots posted soon....

Not a hippie :) just an attachment parent. That's how Sean and I parent as well. Babywearing, breastfeeding, cosleeping, the works.
ReplyDeleteEC always seemed really interesting, but also like A LOT of work. I would love to try it, but I am afraid that i personally would get frustrated with it- since I have a hard time finding patience for regular potty learning with a 2-3 year old.
I think it is awesome that you are doing so much research and making such informed decisions for your little Maddie :) She is a lucky little one to have parents who care so much.
I think this is the OPPOSITE of a hippie! More yuppie like, because a hippie would just "let the child train itself" and change diapers for years!! (Sorry, I lived through the 60s) This sounds interesting, I'll give you that....
