Maddie came home last night from Mom and Dad's house where she'd been since sunday. It was soo nice to hold her and feel those lovely cheeks on mine. :) I swear she looked bigger and older! :) she got home at about 7:00 and she was WIDE awake! all night! she was curious and looking around, and occasionally would get cranky, so we did alot of singing and dancing. thank goodness for the music on the tv. :) I've been putting it on the 90's channel and as a side benefit I've been hearing alot of old songs I haven't heard in forever! :) When we were in Elgin this weekend we went to Once upon a child, a kids resale store mom likes to go to and we got her a vibrating bouncer like she has at grandma and grandpa's and the good news is she really likes it! thank goodness! So she spent some time in the swing and the bouncer and for the most part liked both of them for a little while, which was nice. :) chris got home alittle after 11:00 from work and we took her upstairs to try and sleep, hopeing that dark and quiet would convince her she was tired, but it didn't work very well... I don't know what happened after 2:00 cuz chris finally took her downstairs so I could get some sleep before going to work this morning.

I don't know if I mentioned this but Chris got laid off a couple weeks ago, which is why I came back to work early, but this week they've called him in to work 2nd shifts, so I'll be working half days today, thurs & friday. I hope he's able to get a nap in this morning...

I'm totally in love with my girl, but I'll be glad when we can get her on a good sleep schedule. :) Well, that's about all for now. Later Gators! :)

starting again

well, it's been a while, but I thought maybe I should update the blog...

The beautiful & awesome Madilyn Rose Whitehead was born on Thursday February 18, 2010 weighing in at 7lbs 12 oz and 17 1/2 inches.

the c-section went pretty well. definitely not something that I would look forward to again, but the end result was worth it. :) and I've healed very well thankfully. Mom & Dad were there along with my in laws Michael & Julie so they all got to meet mads right away. I only got to see her for a second in the operating room and then again in the hallway on my way to recovery..

I was up and walking around the next morning. the next few days are kind of a blur now... I know that mom and dad were there, michael & julie, kirsten & tom, amy z, & patrick and katherine. We were shooting for a sunday morning departure, but the dr on call took his sweet time getting to me and we didn't get to leave till around 6:00! :(

Mom spent the entire week in freeport, staying with me all day and sleeping at her friend's at night. for the next several weeks she came over ALOT! and THANK GOD!!! I don't think we could have handled it all by ourselves. Chris was also extremely helpful! He did the dishes, made food, did laundry, went to the store. He was awesome!!

It's now been just about 6 weeks and I'm back to work. I went back to work last monday because chris got laid off. :( It's been kinda nice honestly to get back to the real world.. :) Oh and Mom and Dad have been taking Maddie on sunday night until tuesday night. it's been really nice to have the free time and extra sleep, but I do miss my girl!!! Mom & Dad are great about sending me pictures though. :) I look forward to my morning picture text from dad as I'm driving to work.. :)

As for Maddie, she's growing like crazy! Eats like crazy and has the worst gas pains! Every day is different. unfortunately we don't really have a schedule set up yet, she kinda sets the tempo.. we have moved to sleeping upstairs finally though! for the first several weeks we were home maddie slept in the bassinet sitting on the coffee table and I slept on the couch. Some days she's really good, other days she just cry's and won't be put down for anything. The girl likes to be held..
